The legendary American singer, Tina Turner, passed away at the age of 83 in Küsnach near Zurich after a long battle with an unspecified illness. She had previously faced intestinal cancer and had been dealing with high blood pressure for over four decades.

Her death, announced on May 24, was attributed to natural causes. Turner’s memoir recirculated following her passing, revealing that she had contemplated assisted suicide in 2016 before her husband, Erwin Bach, donated his kidney to her.

Diagnosed with high blood pressure in 1978, Turner began her struggle with intestinal cancer in 2016, alongside kidney failure, which eventually led to her receiving a transplant in 2017. In her final public remarks in April 2023, she expressed her acceptance of life’s full adventure and her lack of fear concerning death.

Tina Turner is survived by her husband, Erwin Bach, and two of her four sons. Her remarkable journey began in Brownsville, Tennessee, and despite facing a difficult childhood and an abusive marriage, she rose to incredible musical success.

In her early 20s, she achieved fame with the Ike and Tina Turner Revue before boldly speaking out about the abuse she endured during her marriage. By the early 80s, she had established herself as a powerhouse in the music industry, earning numerous Grammy Awards and captivating audiences with her unparalleled performances.
